Quote Approval Agent

Drafts the approval rationale, routes in real time.

Watches every queued quote. Drafts the approval rationale: discount vs floor, comparable deals, customer history, margin impact. Pushes to the right approver with the right context. Median round-trip drops from 2-3 days to 8 minutes for standard-tier discounts.

01What it actually does

No demo magic. Real actions, real audit trail.

Each action runs through the same engine your humans use: same routing rules, same approval policy, same audit log. The agent's name is on every record it touches.

01
Picks the right approver
Reads your policy ('discount > 15% Sales Manager; > 25% CRO; non-standard config CPQ Admin'). Routes to the named approver's queue with the quote and full opportunity context.
02
Drafts the rationale
'Quote $48k, 22% discount (above 15% floor). Customer: Acme, 4 years tenure, $2.1M ACV. Comparable 22% deals (3 in last quarter) all closed. Margin: 31% (segment avg 28%).' Approver gets a one-screen view, not a hunt.
03
Surfaces concerns
When the deal looks unusual: 'This is the largest discount this rep has requested this quarter; comparable customer-tier deals close at 14% avg.' Approver decides; the agent doesn't gate.
04
Tracks SLA
If approver doesn't act within configured SLA (default 4 business hours for standard tier), agent re-routes to the next-tier approver with original context preserved. Audit trail signed at every step.
02How it decides

The logic behind every action.

Not a black box. The decision rules are explicit, configurable, and surfaced on every action so the manager (and you) can trace the why.

01
Comparable deals first
Pulls the 3 most-comparable closed deals (similar product mix, customer tier, region, time window). Gives the approver an anchor instead of a pure ratio.
02
Margin not just discount
A 25% discount on a high-margin product is different from 25% on a thin-margin product. Agent surfaces resulting margin, not just the discount line.
03
Skip the obvious
If the discount is below floor and the customer is in good AR standing, agent posts to Approved without routing. Saves the approver's queue for actual judgement calls.
03What you control

Off-switch per agent. Always.

Every agent runs on a leash you set. Approval thresholds, dry-run mode, per-rep / per-account disable, audit trail, your call.

01
Per-tier SLA
Configure approval SLA per discount tier: standard tier 4 hours, exec tier 24 hours, etc. Re-routing on SLA breach is configurable.
02
Skip-the-obvious threshold
Set the bar above which the agent must route (default: any discount > floor). Loosen for trusted reps; tighten for new hires.
03
Attached comparable
Number of comparable deals to surface (default 3). More gives context; fewer keeps the approval screen scannable.

06FAQ

Common questions.

Asked by the people whose name goes on the renewal forecast.

Can the agent auto-approve?

Yes, for the categories you mark 'auto-approve' (typically: discount-below-floor, preferred-vendor, repeat-customer-with-clean-AR). Anything outside those bands always requires a human. The agent never approves outside policy.

What if our approver disagrees with the agent's rationale?

The approver always overrides. The rationale is context, not a recommendation. Audit trail captures the approver's decision alongside the agent's draft, so you can review divergence later.

How does it know what 'comparable' means?

Per-customer-segment + per-product-family + last 4 quarters. Tunable. The agent surfaces 'why these are comparable' so the approver can challenge if the comparison feels off.
